Graphic designer Leah Marmorstein-Yarchi won the Yitzhak Navon Award for her typeface design, which was unveiled at the National Memorial Ceremony for Israel’s Presidents and Prime Ministers (March 28, 2017).

For many, Yitzhak Navon embodied the values of national unity and solidarity. As we unravel his life’s story, it becomes clear that his aspiration to unite every strand of the delicate Jewish tapestry spread over the diaspora and encompassing Jews in Israel from over one hundred different countries was a common theme throughout his career.

This yearning was fueled by an unrelenting dedication to preserving the culture and unique characteristics of every Jewish community and the Sephardic community in particular.

Yitzhak Navon – from the alleys of his childhood to the President’s Residence

The story of Yitzhak Navon’s life is intertwined with the history of the State of Israel and Jerusalem in particular. The route of the trip deals with the life of Yitzhak Navon, who was born in Jerusalem and grew up in it to be a politician, a leader and a spiritual man who creates culture. The route begins with Navon’s childhood in the Ohel Moshe neighborhood and ends at his place of resting in the section of the nation’s greats on Mount Herzl.
